Data Collection

Plain Paper scanning – Apperson DTS can provide a stock answer sheet that can be printed from any printer and/or copied. Each on-site data-collection location would require an image scanner, normally priced from $400 to $600.

With this solution, we recommend that answer sheets be pre-slugged to ensure data accuracy. After the survey/test has been administered, the documents can be scanned using the image scanner or faxed to Apperson DTS for collection.

Once data files have been created, Apperson can return the raw data to you in your preferred format.


OMR scanning solution – Choose from over 30 stock stand-alone answer sheets, ballots and surveys and 3 stock pre-slugged answer sheets. Each on-site data collection location would require an Advantage™ 1200 scanner at an investment of $595.

The Advantage™ 1200 can be used in a stand-alone environment for daily/weekly quizzes/ballots. It can also interface with DataLink™, allowing the data from each document to written to a data file.

When the Advantage™ 1200 is used with the DataLink™, you can run an item analysis or tally report.

Once the data file has been written, it can be exported and transmitted to a central location for combining and more extensive reporting.

Outsourcing Solution – Instead of purchasing equipment for each location, the test answer sheets can be returned to Apperson DTS for image or OMR scanning. We can provide custom reporting and/or return the raw data file.
