ICR
Intelligent Character Recognition technology, otherwise known as ICR, is a method of capturing handwritten information from your forms, surveys or documents.

When your forms are scanned, the scanning software will read the ICR-readable fields established within your template. Any character within an ICR-readable field not recognized with 100% accuracy will be flagged for verification.

A human verifier will be shown a picture of the actual field (key from image) and what the software thinks the character is. The verifier will either agree with the software or make a correction and tab to the next field.

The ICR “smart” process allows for easy organization, sorting, retrieval and analysis of your handwritten fields. So when your company sends out a survey with open-ended questions, you can get exact thoughts and feelings as they were recorded instead of just a yes/no response. A great deal of human input is needed with these forms, so the price is generally higher than with other formats.
